Sunday School Has a New Leader!

We are very happy to announce that Francine Garman has accepted the role of Epiphany's Sunday School superintendent.  Francine has taught in the preschool, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten rooms and is very excited to take on this new challenge.  Welcome, Francine!

Epiphany Sunday School Superintendent Application

The position of superintendent involves a 2-year commitment. Epiphany will follow these steps to consider candidates for this paid position.

1. By March 1, 2010 (via email to epiphany29@comcast.net or hard copy delivered to the church office):
a. Explain in writing why you want the position, and what strengths you bring to the role.
b. Provide your current resume (or job and education history).

2. The office will contact you to schedule separate interviews with Pastor Beach and Joan Wincentsen.

3. Before final acceptance, the candidate will need to apply for a background check at the Elmhurst police department.

This person or persons will have a passion for children and a desire that Epiphany’s kids receive an effective Sunday morning education of God, Jesus, and the Bible. The Superintendent will coordinate teachers for pre-primary through 6th grade (not confirmation). This person(s) will be supported by the Christian Education Committee, Joan Wincentsen (Pastoral Assistant for Christian Education), and Pastor Beach, as well as outgoing staff led by Jeff Marti and Mimi Stanton who we thank for their outstanding service.

Please note that there will be no summer Sunday school sessions this year. Please check with the nursery staff about age appropriate attendance in the nursery if you would like to have your children in the nursery during the summer months. Don’t hesitate to bring your Sunday school attendees to any of our services throughout the summer! The Saturday night service is a great family service as well.

Sunday School News

We are in the process of planning our Sunday school staffing needs for the following (2009-2010) school year. If you would like to get involved but are not teaching or assisting this year, please don’t hesitate to talk to the current staff, Mimi Stanton, or myself about what is involved. In addition, if you know someone who has taught in the past, we encourage you to talk to them about the benefits of this experience.

Sunday School News

Hopefully your preparations for Easter and Spring Break are shaping up the way you would like. While spring gets busy with activities, we hope to have strong attendance at Sunday School from now to the end of the school year! Thanks to all the parents that get involved by making Sunday School a priority for their kids and by dedicating their time and talents to the program.
