First Communion Classes will be held for 5th Graders on Sundays, March 21 and March 28 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel. One parent should accompany the student. Each one-hour class will be taught by Pastor Beach. First communion will be celebrated Maundy Thursday of Holy week, April 1st at 7:30 p.m. For more information, talk to Pastor Beach.

IT WILL BE SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 22nd!!!!  It seems many families will be out of town on Sunday, November 29th so we are changing the LYO Rake and Run to NEXT Sunday, November 22nd.  We’ll meet at the church at 10:00 a.m., so LYOers and Confirmands, please plan on joining us for this service project. A reminder to parents of 7th and 8th grade students. Confirmation Orientation will take place at 7:00 p.m. on September 17, 2009. Each student and at least one parent please plan to attend. Parents will meet with Pastor Beach in the chapel, while the students will meet in the sanctuary for acolyte training/review.

Elmhurst Area Children's Choir, now beginning it's SEVENTH season, is looking for kids ages five and up to help us launch the season with a world premiere musical based on the classic cartoon, “IT'S THE GREAT PUMPKIN CHARLIE BROWN.” Weekly rehearsals will be held beginning September 8th (come either on Sundays from 1 to 2:30 p.m. OR/AND Tuesdays from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in Epiphany Center.) Your experience with Elmhurst Area Children's Choir will include weekly snacks, water bottles, tee shirts, practice CD's, and music for a performance that will take place on Saturday, October 24th at 4:00 p.m. (location to be announced.) Come join other singers representing over five communities and MANY schools in the area.  Over 500 children have had an E.A.C.C. experience and we hope you will too, along with Linus, Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Lucy, Schroeder and the gang from Peanuts.

to begin the Seventh Season of the Elmhurst Area Children's Choir beginning in September. Our first concert, on Saturday, October 24th, will be a world premiere of a musical based on the PEANUTS comic strip movie classic: IT'S THE GREAT PUMPKIN, CHARLIE BROWN.  We are going to make Charlie Brown and all of the other Peanuts characters come alive and tell the story that has become a Halloween television classic.  Rehearsals begin on Tuesday, September 8th from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and continue every Sunday and Tuesday (Sundays from 1 to 2:30 p.m.) until the date of the performance.  You are required to attend only ONE rehearsal per week, but may attend both if you wish- as there are snacks, name badges, water bottles, vocal exercises, movement, and other fun stuff with kids from all over the area.  Ages five and up who love to sing are especially invited.  And, yes, tell a friend or a neighbor who might want to come along.
