MISSION CHALLENGE FUNDS ARE NOW AVAILABLE...
Posted by Web Editor on 3/20/2010 8:11:28 PM (82 reads)

Do you have ideas on new ways Epiphany can support and further our mission (Rooted in Christ, Growing in Faith, Reaching to Invite and Serve)? Your idea might impact our congregation, our community or have an impact on people far from Elmhurst. Perhaps your idea will enhance an existing Epiphany ministry. Either way, the Mission Challenge Fund was established in the 2010 annual budget as a means for people or groups within the church to solicit funds to help turn their mission related passions into reality. The process for applying for funds is simple and all Epiphany members can apply. Just fill out a Mission Challenge Fund “Request for Support” form which is available in the church office. The process is easy and the one page form includes all the necessary information. There is even a small group of Epiphany members led by Ron Feltman willing to help you refine your idea and fill out the application. Let’s make 2010 the year that your ideas and the Mission Challenge Fund unleash powerful missional growth.

GREEN CLEANING - DRAINS…
Posted by Web Editor on 3/4/2010 9:20:12 PM (25 reads)

“Most commercial drain cleaning de-cloggers contain corrosive ingredients such as sodium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite that can permanently damage eyes and skin. Some can be fatal if ingested.
To unclog drains use a “snake”plumbing tool to manually remove blockage, or try suction removal with a plunger. To disinfect drains, pour a cup or two of vinegar down them twice a week. Ordinary vinegar can kill up to 99 percent of bacteria. Taken from National Geographic “Green Guide”.
Another drain opener: Pour ½ cup of baking soda followed by ½ cup of warm vinegar. Let sit 30 minutes then flush with boiling water.

“The measure of achievement is not winning awards. It’s doing something that you appreciate, something you believe is worthwhile. I think of my strawberry soufflé. I did that at least twenty eight times before I finally conquered it.” ...Julia Child

BERGHAUS? WHAT IS IT?...
Posted by Web Editor on 8/30/2009 9:17:54 PM (25 reads)

Help finish the Berghaus. Well, what in the world is a Berghaus ?? It is Epiphany's Pipe Organ, you know that instrument with all the pipes on the north side of the sanctuary. And in the year 2010 it will celebrate it's 20th anniversary (installed in 1990).  But, I bet you know it is still missing some pipes !!! Yes, the organ has not reached its full playing capacity. But, nearly $30,000 has been raised so far, and we'll need more generous donations (tax deductible) to finish it and make it the glorious instrument a pipe organ can be. We will gladly accept any amount of donation from any one so that maybe by Berghaus's 20th birthday it will be a completed instrument. Just drop your donation in the mail to Epiphany or in the offering plate when you attend worship and designate it Epiphany Organ Fund.

STEWARDSHIP NOTE…
Posted by Web Editor on 6/25/2009 9:07:03 PM (62 reads)

Worship name tags are coming soon! For added fellowship and friendship, the goal is to have each adult wearing a name tag. A name tag board has been constructed on which to hang your tag when leaving the worship area. Name tags are being printed and will be made available at a future time and place. We’re looking for a volunteer to weekly, insure the board (on rollers!) is easily seen and approachable. If you can help with this one need, please tell a pastor or your Stewardship Committee or Dave Norquist. Thank you!
