For more information as it is available, go to http://www.elca.org/Our-Faith-In-Acti ... d/Disaster-Response.aspx. are looking for charities who could benefit from their sales… It’s time for the Children’s Clothing and Toy & Equipment Resales again on February 26/27 and March 20 respectively. At the end of the Clothing Sale, on Saturday the 27th, we invite and have a few Charity Organizations who come in and take some of the clothing items which have been tagged for donation and did not sell. These organizations include our own Epiphany Lydias, the Project Hope group and Little Lambs. In years past we have had individuals representing established charities who boxed and shipped clothing items overseas to children in need in the Ukraine and Africa. The Resale committee then takes any leftover donation items over to the Salvation Army or Goodwill. If you know of anyone who is a contact at a charity organization who would benefit from these clothing items, please contact Amy Martich at amartich@yahoo.com or 630-941-1083. For any toy and equipment items, please forward contact information to Beverly Keller at 630-941-3127.

Epiphany's annual tree lighting will be hosted by the Sunday School teachers on Sunday, December 6, at 6 p.m. Join us for this joyful, family-friendly event. We meet in Epiphany Center, head outside to light the tree, and then come inside to sing carols and enjoy some holiday treats together. Don't worry--we go inside pretty quickly if it's too cold! We hope your family can join us; it's a lot of fun and is a great opportunity to sing favorite tunes and focus on the birth of Jesus.

Just a reminder that starting next Sunday, Nov. 29th, we will be arranging a "Coat and Boot Drive" for those in need. Last year through your generosity, several needy families were delighted by your donations of warm winter coats, boots, and winter clothing. So, remember to bring in any "gently used" winter coats and boots to the Tree of Love and Caring table in December. They will be distributed along with the gifts, to the Tree of Love and Caring families on Dec. 20th. Thank you for your help!

GREEN TEAM… NEW DOCUMENTARY FILMS!...

|
If you would like to learn more about what is going on in our environment here are a few films that have recently come on the market and may be of interest to you. “Food Inc.” - you will find out about the food we buy at our local supermarkets and serve to our families, and “Flow”, a film about the growing privatization of the world’s dwindling fresh water supply with an unflinching focus on politics, pollution, human rights, and the emergence of a domineering world water cartel. Both of these films are available at the Elmhurst Public Library. Look ahead for another film soon to be available, “Fresh”, a film that revels in the joy of growing good food sustainably. Good films for family discussions relating to caring for God’s creation! If you are interested in helping Epiphany going greener, please call Martha Clark.
